The Great Protector - Spirit Dancer Series

This is a dedication piece to my father who passed away a few  years ago.  The initial idea came to me a few months prior  to the completion of this piece. My father came to me in a  dream and was talking about his Kachina dolls. At the time  I thought it was odd. A few weeks after the dream a patron  told me I need to paint or put Kachinas in my artwork.  It definitely didn’t feel like this was just a coincidence.  A few different images came to mind, and the owl felt like  the right choice. Looking back on it now, the owl and the  name of this piece is perfect for honoring my father. A person may draw upon the owl’s many exceptional qualities,  which can  be expressed as wisdom, intuition, agility, courage,  and protection as well as independence, keen observation,  and transformation. The owl spirit animal reminds us to tap  into our intuition.
