To make the Triple Play, you'll start by making the braid. The smooth round satin cord provides structure, strength, and stability to the braid while the variegated ribbon adds delightfully shifting colors. The two materials play off each other in a classic over-under diagonal basket weave pattern. The Basket Weave Braid is known as edo yatsu in Japanese.  Edo yatsu is a sequence of four clockwise moves followed by four counter-clockwise move (and a reposition) that creates a braid with diagonal interlacements.
