Address: Grand River and Manor Built: 1925 Engine 49 organized 1925, disbanded 2012. Engine 49 was one of several Detroit Fire Stations closed temporarily in 2012 as a cost-saving measure. Due to a "miscomunication," the station was not properly secured and was sacked by metal thieves, who stripped out most of the copper and broke a water main the basement.
