Contour Next Control Solution - Level 1(Low) The Contour Next glucose control solution can only be used with the Contour NEXT EZ Glucose Meter and other Contour Next Meters. It's main purpose is to perform reliable control testing and also to calibrate the glucose meter and test strips to make sure they work properly together. When Should Control Tests be Performed: Monthly With each new vial of test strips When you change your batteries If you suspect the meter is malfunctioning How To Perform a Control Test: Apply a drop of control solution to the test strip instead of a drop of blood Compare the results to the control range (the control range can be found on the side of the test strips vial) If the results are inside the range printed on the vial, your meter is functioning correctly and accurately. If the results are outside the range, please call the manufacturer of your meter immediately.
