Mocha Java

Complex yet well balanced. Carefully blended with different roasts from South America, Asia, and Africa. Sweet and fruity with a deep body. Clean lasting finish. Hints of rice and berries. Mocha-Java, the most recognized coffee blend broke free of its original recipe components long ago, leaving it to modern roasters to try their hands at recreating the magic of this classic blend with todays palette of coffees. The problem being that the coffees now being produced where the original coffees grew have changed so much in character that a traditionally strict blend no longer produces anything near the classic Mocha-Java taste. After no small amount of trial and error, we came upon a blend (50% Ethiopian Harrar, 30% Celebes Kalossi and 20% Sumatran Mandheling) that allows the more fragile fruity high notes of the Ethiopia to keep its footing alongside the pronounced herbal and heavy character of the Sumatran.
