Often confused with its cousin the Picasso Triggerfish. The Humu Rectangle Triggerfish, also known as the Wedge-tailed Trigger, or the V-line Humuhumu is an awesome addition to your fish only reef tank! Besides its beautifully bright colors and perfect geometric markings, it is also known as Hawaii’s state fish, that features a distinct body shape and a thick dorsal spine. At a glance, this triggerfish has a beautiful pearly white face and two blue and black stripes across the eyes. It is also, recognized by the black V-pattern outlined in yellow that highlights the posterior section of their bodies. They are not reef safe and should not be kept in reef aquariums. They will eat invertebrates and can damage or tip over corals when they try to rearrange the décor. It has strong jaws which can be used to crush and eat sea urchins, crustaceans and hard-shelled mollusks. Classified as Rhinecanthus rectangulus, it is found at reefs in the Indo-Pacific.
