Price-clipped jacket toned, with wear along top edge, where it sits about 1/4" tall of the boards. A novel with strong gay subtext set at an English boy's school; "the story of Guy Kinmont, a charming athletic boy who comes under the sway of two dominating [schoolmaster] personalities of different character" (jacket). Cook (1923-?) also a biographer, linguist and travel writer, who founded a language school in Cambridge in 1962. Uncommon in jacket, with its striking but uncredited front panel illustration.
