Performances included those through a makeshift sound system powered by a 50 pound battery pack, all of which was dragged by hand on a wagon through the dust. Imagine the CD case you are now holding covered in sand.The first time I participated in Burning Man was in 2005, and it was life-changing for me in many ways. One of these was musically, in that the event encouraged me to express myself, my true self, and for the first time I tried to create my own music, improvising from my heart, rather than reading the sheet music of others. When I realized that I could deeply connect with others through my own music, it profoundly affected me, and I thereafter changed my life priorities to allow more room for music in my life.
