KitchenAid 5 & 6 Qt Worm Gear - WP9709231

Genuine KitchenAid 5 Quart and 6 Quart Professional Worm Gear, WP9709231.  The worm gear is found in all KitchenAid 6 Quart 600 Pro Stand Mixers, as well as 5 Quart mixers including the KitchenAid 5 Qt Professional HD Stand Mixer and the KitchenAid 5 Quart Professional 5 Plus Stand Mixers.   This gear will replace a stripped or worn Worm Gear. This is a genuine KitchenAid Stand Mixer replacement part; all of our parts are New Original KitchenAid Parts. Constructed of strong alloy, this gear is driven by the main motor shaft and drives the worm follower gear (W11086780).  Even slight knicks in this gear can cause the mixer to be excessively loud, cause clicking noises, or cause the beater to skip as it goes around.  When replacing this gear make sure to clean off all grease, if you have access to a parts washer that is the best way to clean the gears, but if not WD-40 and paper towels will work.
