Key West Bad Bitch Rum Barrel

Doing Work Coffee has been barrel aging coffee for almost 5 years now and our latest batch was a leap of faith or educated wish. As always, we stated with the best ingredients--This barrel has a crazy story to tell...This French oak barrel started its life holding Rombauer Pinot Noir for 7 years before being transported to Key West where Chef Paul Menta at First Legal Rum Distillery filled it with rum and aged it for another 4 years. The rum is exceptional and deserving of it's the accolades and awards. It's complex and delicate with a smoothness that only comes with time. This was an intimidating exercise for Doing Work Coffee because we wanted to do justice to the ingredients AND are pairing  a coffee to a barrel that we only had 1 shot to get right and with all of our coffees, if we don't love it, it won't be released. So here it is. it is a very limited release and we look forward to sharing it.
