About the Composition Lyric Sonata was composed in 2009 and is aimed at the intermediate bassist. It has three colourful and engaging movements, with the emphasis on the singing and lyrical possibilities of the double bass, alongside an enjoyable piano accompaniment which is both independent yet support. Lyric Sonata is written entirely in bass clef and offers accessible and interesting study or concert repertoire for the progressing bassist.
