Smooth-Sil 945 is a firm platinum silicone mold making material which features a 1A:1B by volume mix ratio. Smooth-Sil 945 is a firm 45 shore A which can be helpful where more precise dimensional reproduction and stability is desired. Smooth-Sil 945 exhibits good chemical, abrasion and heat resistance with very little shrinkage. Materials such as plasters, concrete, wax, low-melt metal alloys or resins (urethane, epoxy or polyester) can then be cast into these silicone rubbers without a release agent. Smooth-Sil silicones are used for rapid prototyping, wax casting (foundries and candle makers), architectural restoration and casting concrete.
