The Edge - Cliffs of Moher, Ireland

Title: The Edge Photographer: Houston Vandergriff Location: Cliffs of Moher, Ireland Caption: We traveled from the USA to Dublin, Ireland. In Dublin, we caught a bus across the country to Galway. There we caught a rural bus that took us along the coastline to a small town called Doolin. We had been traveling for nearly 2 days so, ignoring all conventional travel wisdom that says to stay awake until evening, when we got to our hostel we crashed. We awoke late in the afternoon and walked quickly along a crooked road to the cliffs. The Cliffs of Moher are famous from the Princess Bride, Harry Potter, and other movies. We were too late to hike along the 9 mile trails at the top of the cliffs. So, instead, we walked down to the water. We lucked out to catch the last boat of the day that takes passengers to the cliff bottoms. The captain explained that the water was getting rough because of an impending hurricane. The skies were dark and gloomy, the wind was whipping, and the waves were brea
