The placid blue saya conceals a rippling folded steel blade featuring bo-hi (groove) collared by a silver hibaki and notched seppa.  The hada and hamon mirror the silver turbulent waves depicted by the tsuba,  kashira and fuchi.  Silver and gold menuki contrast against the dark blue tsuka ha
