The rendering of such a fine creature as the downy woodpecker is quite impressive. Of course the Groundskeeper was ecstatic to see one of their precious bonsai trees represented in this collection. The quiet pain of a wooden heart is not entirely unfathomable, but alas one must assume pain was not the artist's intention.  They seem prone to more pleasant ideas such as the love one might feel for nature.
