Kagoshima Matcha

This ceremonial Kagoshima organic matcha has been the top-selling product from GreenTea Merchant for years. We are making this product available to the consumer for the first time in a limited quantity.  Select quality tencha tea leaves picked in the early spring are immediately steamed, dried, and stone-ground into a fine powder creating Matcha. Its exquisite natural sweetness enhances the slightly grassy tasting Sencha. This results in the excellent combination, Sencha Matcha, which will surely please the palate.  Matcha is harvested in the Kirishima Mountains at an elevation of approximately 200 meters or above. The elevation is relatively higher, and the temperature is cooler than on the flat ground. The fertilizer is mainly compost and certified organic by JAS (Japan Agricultural Standard).The matcha is a professionally blended cultivar of Yabukita, Saemidori, Okumidori, and Asanoka by the tea master.
