85 Days to Maturity. Certified Organic.  Sweet Siberian Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus) is a unique, early-maturing melon producing oblong fruits weighing approximately 10 pounds, featuring dark green rinds and distinctive apricot-colored, juicy flesh. Renowned for its exceptionally sweet and refreshing flavor, Sweet Siberian is well-suited for regions with shorter growing seasons, making it a favorite among northern gardeners. Its vigorous vines thrive in full sun and well-drained soils, delivering a delectable harvest in as little as 80 days. Can be direct seeded once soil reaches 70ºF, but prefers 85ºF during germination, so transplanting is a good option. Sow indoors 3 weeks before last frost. Harvest once attachment to stem begins to dry down, and rind is dark green with a yellow spot where it rests on the ground. Row cover recommended until flowering to increase heat. Seed Source Information: Heirloom variety originating from Russia, first introduced by Peter Henderson & Co
