Retro 51 Tornado Rollerball - Corona (Smithsonian)
The Retro 1951 Smithsonian Corona Rollerball is the first of Retro's Smithsonian Collection. With Retro's patented twist action top, its deeply etched barrel is reminiscent of the ornamental bronze-colored metal lattice that covers the outside of the National Museum of African American History and Culture building in Washington D.C.. Numbered and accented with matte black nickel, the top disc displays the Smithsonian logo. Homage is paid to the intricate ironwork crafted by enslaved African Americans in Louisiana, South Carolina and throughout by the lead designer David Adjaye. Packaged in a commemorative tube which can also be used a pen stand, this pen makes great for everyday use, a gift or a collector's piece. Refill: Retro Short Capless and any Parker style ballpoint/gel refill. A little extra information: The National Museum of African American History and Culture is the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American life, history, and culture
