Step 1 Fill a bowl with water. Remove the top of the Blumat. Put both the top and ceramic cone into the bowl for at least 15 minutes. Submerge the ceramic cones. Step 2 Remove the cone from the water, while keeping it as full of water as possible. Secure the green cap on top. Step 3 Push the ceramic cone into the soil. Place the anchor on the far end of the 3mm tubing into a reservoir. How does it work? As the soil dries, the ceramic cone delivers water gradually into the surrounding earth - thereby creating a vacuum within the cone which draws water from the nearby container of water. Once the soil is moistened the Blumat will cease flowing water. It waters your plants only as needed. Adjust Water Flow If the Blumat is over-watering your plant, you can place the reservoir lower (relative to the Blumat).
