Bye Bye Bayou [12" Vinyl EP]
This one-off cover of Alan Vega’s “Bye Bye Bayou”was recorded during the sessions for This IsHappening, which took place at a rather storiedmansion nestled deep in Los Angeles’ Laurel Canyon. The photographs that grace the sleeve were also shotthen. It was originally released as a 12” for “Vinyl Saturday,”whatever that was, in late 2009 and never repressed. The original is a sort of demented, throbbing, bluesmachine romp, and that devious spirit remains onthe LCD version, but it’s more in the pocket, a littleless unhinged. Basically, you can dance to it withoutlooking like a complete crazy person. The sleeve is a four-color print on reverse board.Lacquers were cut at 45RPM by Bob Weston. It hasbeen pressed at IRP in Bordentown, NJ.RIP Alan Vega.A1 Bye Bye BayouB2 Bye Bye Bayou (A Capella Version)
