Native to the arid regions of Somalia, Whitesloanea crassa is unique for its distinctive, fly-pollinated star-shaped flowers. When grown a little harder, the skin develops a more muted tan color. It's one of the weirdest plants out there, and one of our absolute favorites. Care Similar to cacti, these love a fast draining mix that is higher in minerals. They will thrive under partial shade (our greenhouse has 50% shade). Avoid freezes and water less often in the winter.  Pictured in a 2.5" pot
