For optimal performance of scleral lenses it's generally accepted that digital (i.e. rub) cleaning on a daily basis is necessary, not just overnight disinfection. However, Lobob ESC, the gold standard "rub" cleaner for scleral lenses, is not compatible with Hydra-PEG (a relatively new lens coating that improves lens wettability). Unique pH is a multi-purpose solution that is approved by the Hydra-PEG makers for their coating, and it can be used for both rub cleaning and overnight soaking. At this point it's quite popular for daily disinfection of sclerals. I will always stick with hydrogen peroxide (Clear Care) as the best
