Aloe castanea - 4in
Aloe castanea, also known as Cat's Tail Aloe, is a branching tree Aloe from South Africa that grows up to 8-12 feet tall or forms a shrubby mass. Its bluish-green leaves, up to 5 feet long, curve inward with sharp, hooked teeth. In mid-winter, it produces unusual dark orange-brown flowers along snake-like inflorescences. Native to South Africa, particularly Limpopo, it prefers full sun, well-draining soil, and occasional watering. Drought-tolerant but blooms better with summer water. Hardy to -5°C (22°F), it's often grown in pots or as a patio plant. Pruning can manipulate its height and spread. With colorful foliage, it adds seasonal interest to gardens and attracts birds and insects. Add it to your Wishlist to be notified when it is available.
