Amber fragrances have a tendency of being unpredictable. Some contain copious amounts of vanilla. Some are so heavy handed on the benzoin resin that they smell medicinal. Others remind us of what amber could have truly smelled like before it became extinct. However, there is one amber fragrance possessing a note of labdanum, and this fragrance is altogether sweet, animalic, resinous, earthy, and spicy. The fragrance is Labdanum 18 by Le Labo, and it is a brilliant perfume composed in 2006. This masterful composition contains 18 ingredients, and at the helm of the composition is the note of French labdanum. This natural ingredient has tendencies that are sweet, fruity, woody, and even leathery.
