A member of the Lamiaceae (formally Labiatae) botanical family, it is a cross between Watermint and Spearmint that is now cultivated worldwide and is even seen as an invasive plant in some areas. Peppermint essential oil with its fresh, sweet minty aroma, blends well with other mint and herbaceous oils. It is commonly blended with Ginger and Lemon for an invigorating aroma for long car rides.
