The High Priestess

As spring arrives, so does the High Priestess!  In most interpretations of the High Priestess card, she sits in front of a thin veil decorated with pomegranates. On either side of her are two pillars, marking the entrance to the temple (one is black, one is white: there's a lot of duality in this card)! She wears a blue robe with a cross on her chest and a diadem. In her lap, she holds a scroll, partly covered.  While the Magician was about manifesting and the conscious mind, the High Priestess delves into the subconscious, the teacher of sacred knowledge and mysteries. She sits at the threshold of the conscious and unconscious mind and has the ability to travel between these realms. She is trying to teach you that the world is not always what it seems and there are bigger and more profound influences at play than you might think.
