Rimé Lineage Masters
This unique image depicts the main lineage masters from each of the five traditions of Tibet—Nyingma, Sakya, Kagyu, Jonang and Geluk. It also includes the two charioteers of Nagarjuna and Asanga with their bodhisattva inspirations, Arya Manjushri and Arya Maitreya. At the bottom are the founders of the Eight Great Practice Lineages which are propagated within the five traditions. Thangkas are traditional scroll paintings which are used as supports for meditation. They usually depict various representations of deities, mandalas and enlightened beings. Since the outer representation of deities is often one of the first things we encounter, it is extremely important for these representations to be painted accurately in order to create the best karmic propensities for the teachings to flourish in the mind of the student. Khentrul Rinpoche has taken great care working closely with master Thangka painters and relying on the source texts to ensure the authenticity of each form. Reproduced o
