Changing Pastures

This piece shows the typical practice on ranches of rotating cattle from one pasture to another so that the grass can be restored to a healthy state and become ready for grazing in the future.  These are Hereford breed cattle, known for their red bodies and white faces.  My father-in-law Dale Lukens is one of the cowboys shown.  Dale worked cattle on horseback for many years in and around Medicine Lodge, KS and became one of my favorite subjects.   Image size 14"h x 18"w Signed and numbered  Limited edition size 250 Artist proof size 25
