Heavy wind is common in Kansas and makes for blowing snow in winter that often causes a cow to become separated from her calf and make her way home without it. In the case of a lost calf, they are often not able to walk well enough yet on dry ground let alone deep snow to keep up with momma. Their only option is to be rescued. Here my son Kerry makes his way back to the barn with a newborn calf straddling the saddle in front of him. It is the end of a long day of looking for the little guys as evidenced by the long shadows. Image size 10.5"h x 15"w Signed and numbered Limited edition size 450 Artist proof size 25
