It certainly has seen service. Sold as is. Measures 22" x 16" x 3". An original London Transport (LT) double sided, bronze framed, enamel ‘Request’ bus stop flag, c. 1950. This red ‘Request’ version of the iconic blue/white LT bus flag was designed by Hans Schleger in the mid-1930s, and used on routes where passengers could flag down a bus at special request stops (rather than on routes where buses were obliged to call at each designated stop). This world-famous example of industrial design was once a common sight on London streets, but all have now been replaced by new versions.
