Indian Spice box, a traditional celled container for holding Kumkuma - different colored powders used for social and religious festivals; such as turmeric and vermillion. This antique storage box has six heart shaped containers with hinged lids and finials. The main finial is a sacred Indian bird. The finial unscrews releasing the lids.The base has 6 feet on which the metal caddy rests upon. We believe it to be solid brass.Raj Indian style, 20th century.
