Anseong Chef XL 185mm

Designed as a tall, formidable chef's knife, with the weight and geometry of a meat cleaver and a sharp, hard edge of carbon steel, this head-turning blade by South Korea's Shin Blacksmith shop in Anseong is ready for anything. With hammer marks telling the story of its creation amid a dark, forged-finish, the knife is crafted using traditional techniques, hand-forged and then ground on stone wheels. The handle of chestnut wood, dried and aged to achieve the correct mix of weight, strength and resistance to the elements, is comfortable and hand-filling, and secured with a forged band of steel.
