Lithium battery heating system allows you to use your lithium batteries on those cold weather campouts. Uses only 1/2 amp draw! ALL types of batteries need to be above freezing in order to charge them. The thermostat turns on at 42 F with a +/- of 5 degrees.   It turns off at 68 F with a +/- of 5 degrees.   The Safari UT lithium battery series performs better than lead acid batteries in most weather conditions. It can charge between temperatures of 32°F and 113°F and can discharge between -4°F and 131°F at a 100% rate. All types of batteries need to be above freezing in order to charge them. Therefore, it is best to use the batteries in a climate-controlled location, not on the tongue of a trailer or in a lead acid battery compartment that has to be ventilated, allowing freezing air to circulate around the battery.
