Peppermint

Peppermint (Mentha × piperita) is a hybrid plant known for its aromatic, sharp, and refreshing scent. It is a cross between spearmint (Mentha spicata) and watermint (Mentha aquatica). The plant typically grows 18 to 24 inches  tall and features lance-shaped, dark green leaves with a distinctive reddish-purple stem. Peppermint’s leaves are known for their strong, minty flavor, making it a popular choice for culinary uses, herbal teas, and essential oils. Peppermint plants produce small, purple or white flowers that grow in clusters, attracting pollinators like bees and butterflies. It thrives in moist, well-drained soil and prefers partially shaded or full sun conditions. Peppermint can spread rapidly through runners or stolons, making it invasive if not kept in check.
