About This Composition This jolly piece of music, composed by Willn “Willy” Geisler, was likely written as an elementary or middle school song to introduce students to each instrument of the orchestra. Born in 1886, Geisler was famous for composing upscale, light music for salon orchestra (popular in the 1920’s,) operetta and films. He also published the book Music for Middle schools with Erich Gottwald in 1927 in his native Germany. I have found this piece to be very useful for many reasons. First off, it is the rare arrangement that fits entirely on one page. This makes it very convenient for players to switch parts with ease. This is the third of four waltzes (3/4 time) in The Art of the Ensemble Book 1. It can be helpful for a group to get proficient at each type of common time signature 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4. Books 2 and 3 are less waltz heavy. Ukes 1-3 are High-G friendly!
