Triggered by a road trip, this work is a processing of different core memories made while traveling around Latin America. Remembering a past trip to a nearby ruin in Mitla. Passing familiar palms with numbers painted on them. Pondering ancient language and repetitions of stepped fret patterns, and their relationship to both the natural world, and modern letterforms & languages. A dark fog looms in the distance pasting over textured red stone walls. This drawing was completed in July 2024 after the Rio Art Residency in Oaxaca, Mexico.
