Michigan Central Station in Detroit was originally opened In December 1913. Time was unkind to Michigan Central, which closed in 1988 and fell into disrepair. “It became a symbol of the rise and fall of Detroit,” writes Bill Ford, who set about restoring the building after Ford Motor Company bought it in 2018. “Now it shows Detroit’s resilience.”  With the help of more than 3,000 artisans, the building has been returned to its former glory, reborn as a tech and cultural hub. The granite in these earrings was hand cut into gem shapes, and then set into hand fabricated sterling silver settings. This collection honors the history of Michigan Central Train Station in the form of jewelry. We hope each wearer of these designs can feel a part of this story, and take a piece of the memorable train station with them. - Sterling silver and 18k vermeil in high polish finish- Oxidized silver in satin finish- Solid Granite or Speckled Granite - Each stone length is 3/4",  entire earring length is
