About the Artist: .Ilana Goor was born in 1936 in Israel Although Goor never studied art formally, her art and technique developed into an independent, uncompromising style combining strength and emotion. She began sculpting in Los Angeles in the late 60’s and in 1972 the Los Angeles State Museum presented a one woman show of her work. Ilana’s works were later shown in exhibitions in Italy, France, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, and the United States, while her statues were installed in the Yad Vashem Memorial Museum in Jerusalem, and in many outdoor settings in Tel-Aviv, Haifa, and other cities throughout Israel. In 1983 Goor designed buckles and sold belts to most major department stores in America. In 1986 Goor introduced a collection of iron furniture and accessories to the American marketplace as limited editions signed by Ilana .
