Meola 1084 Carbon 6 Inch Bunka
Hand-forged in Berthoud, Colorado, this Bunka from bladesmith Akiva Meola is a compact, high-performance kitchen knife built for precision and versatility. Made from 1084 high-carbon steel and heat treated to a Rockwell hardness of 62, it holds a fine edge and handles a wide range of daily prep work with ease. The heel height measures around 45mm, offering solid board clearance and making it a practical choice for cooks who prefer a smaller blade with serious utility. The handle is sculpted in-house and features a 3/4 hidden tang with a Western-style profile. It’s made from curly silver maple stabilized in deep blue resin for durability and resistance to heat and moisture. After shaping, Akiva finishes each handle with a hand-applied flame fade that gives every piece a one-of-a-kind look.
