Takeshi Saji, a master blacksmith from Echizen, Japan, carries a family legacy of craftsmanship that spans generations. Born in Takefu in 1948, he started honing his skills under his father’s guidance in 1966, eventually becoming a third-generation master blacksmith by the age of 30. In 1992, his expertise was officially acknowledged when he was awarded the title of “Traditional Master Craftsman” by Japan’s Ministry of International Trade & Industry. This beautifully crafted knife features a 31-layer SG2 black Damascus steel blade, which showcases an intricate etched pattern highlighting the stunning contrast of its layers.
