These grapefruit-esque slices have been cut from a stalactite out of the Cappillitas Mine in Argentina.  This mine has been producing metals and minerals since the time of the Incas and is the only mine in the world where rhodochrosite stalactites have been found. This mine is now closed and supply in the industry is now increasingly more difficult to find.
