Still life painting, Lemon Tea No. 2 - 16 x 20
I created this still life with items inherited from my grandmother and great-grandmother: a crystal bowl filled with lemons, a cup of tea and teapot, a silver champagne cooler holding hydrangeas, a blue and white pitcher holding roses, and silver flatware, all set on a lace placemat and a floral tablecloth. This original acrylic painting on canvas is preserved with a UV-protective varnish. The canvas is 16 x 20 x 1.5 inches. The edges are painted so it can be displayed with or without a frame. About the collection: In life, it's easy to focus on big events: birthdays, holidays, and "firsts." But most of life is made up of those in-between moments. Small, everyday moments can be the most meaningful parts of life. In painting, I'm obsessed with the idea of negative space--the space in between the objects pictured.
