Wild Rose with Rust Red Diamond, 14k and 22k gold Kinetic Locket

There are few things that comfort and fufill me like the ocean.  The sound of the waves- the vastness- it both soothes and astonishes me. Perhaps it is the saltiness: of the air, of the water- a reminder of our own vastness.  (And saltiness) "The cure for everything is salt water: Sweat, tears and the salt sea." Isak Dineson This sentiment is captured in sterling silver, with a gorgous rust red 6mm diamond at the center, set in 22k gold. Surrounding the diamond are 14k gold "stamens," adding a touch of realism to this wild rose. I took photos of the diamond under several light sources to try to capture the deep, warm color of the stone surrounded in gold.  It's a truly gorgeous color. Suspended from a substantial yet delicate 22" sterling silver chain, this piece is finished with a handmade hook clasp. The author's name is etched on the rose leaf, alongside my elm logo.
