Stanley Dwight, lover of music - Elton's father can be attributed to introducing music to Elton, playing albums in the home, intently enjoying the weaving of music and lyrics together. He is well known as a keen record buyer and shared, passed that affinity to Elton. Elton stated his father was a strict, military dad. He had a great love of jazz music and played records all the time. Through him, Elton learned to love vinyl and is still a massive collector today.
