This is a mini acorn pendant from Desert Ironwood (Olneya tesota) with Aussie Black Palm nut (Normanbya normanbyi) cap.  Desert Ironwood is probably the nicest looking wood from North America,  very hard, heavy (this wood sinks in water), polished up to a glassy finish and the swirly grain shimmers like gold.  The American Indian believes that the wood will bring luck and good health to the people who carries it.  I am already feeling very lucky to have a few nice pieces to work with!  The hard and dense wood enabled me to make such a small threaded item.  The cap was fashioned out of a rare palm nut with the unique scattered black lines.  This tiny nut is suspended from a 18" brown leather cord with an antique bronze leaf bail and simple tube spacer beads.  I like the delicate look of this design.This unique pendant has a tiny compartment for memorial keepsake.
