Sterling Silver Shark With Amethyst and Surfite Necklace - Shark Bite Surfboard Resin Necklace

This pendant is made entirely of recycled sterling silver.  The back plate features a heart cutout to reveal the surfite stone.   The shark is ready to chomp a beautiful deep purple amethyst bullet cabachon and the teardrop surfite adds extra color and character. Sharks have intrigued me most of my life and as a scuba diver and stand up paddle surfer they have extra meaning.  When I found this surfboard resin, also known as "Surfite", I knew I needed to create a piece featuring a shark. "Surfite" is made from the layered resin built up from the process of glassing surfboards. Each color can be layers from one or multiple surfboards.  The layers build up to create these beautiful designs.  Not only is it beautiful, but it also feels good to recycle it into something beautiful instead of throwing it into the landfill.
