Perseverance Records is proud to announce the release of the score to the 2013 documentary, American Revolutionary: The Evolution of Grace Lee Boggs. Composed by up and coming composer Vivek Maddala, the documentary centers on Detroit social activist, Grace Lee Boggs. The soundtrack includes the tracks "Detroit Summer" and "Emergence" by Invincible + Waajeed.Here is Vivek discussing his score: “The opportunity to compose the music score for AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY appealed to me partly due to the subject matter -- the ideas and evolution of the inimitable Grace Lee Boggs. I was also eager to collaborate with the film’s excellent team -- director Grace Lee, producers Caroline Libresco and Austin Wilkin, and editor Kim Roberts. The film presented abundant opportunities for me freely to invent and fuse different musical forms. Hence, we have impish, subversive melodies using chamber strings that yield to melancholy piano; hard post-industrial rock textures that complement subtle references
