MCL1960
We present MCL1960. This is our second series within the 1960 collection. These socks, in particular, are unique because it is a MC Lolahstic collaboration project, the first of many future collaborations. October 1, 1960 marks Nigeria's proclamation of independence from British rule so we capture the unity and pride of the country using the Nigerian Coat of Arms. It was officially adopted by the Nigerian government in 1975. The black shield with two wavy bands forming the letter "Y" represents Nigeria's fertile soil and country's main inland waterways, the rivers Niger and Benue, which both meet to form a confluence at Lokoja. The band around the base of the shield bears Nigeria's motto: Unity and Faith, Peace and Progress. The eagle standing on the shield represents the strength and pride of Nigeria. The two horses on either side of the shield represents Nigeria's dignity. The flowers at the base of the shield and below the ankle are Costus spectabilis, a type of flower found in all
