Description : MALWINA STRAWBERRY: Bred by Peter Stoppel in Germany, is a high quality, very late season variety (at least 7 days later than Record). Fruits are glossy and dark red having excellent flavor with high Brix readings. Berries are large and hold berry size well through the season. Regular pickings are suggested to maintain fruit firmness. Pinch off the first flush of flowers, 3 - 4 weeks after setting out your plants. The reason to pinch off or cut off all flowers from every new strawberry plant for the first growing season is to allow the strawberry plants to root and grow without distraction. You will get abundant fruits next year. Malwina is a pleasure to the eye, in the basket as well as in the punnet. Its aroma reminds us of „strawberries from grandma’s garden”, as a customer once said it. With its very vigorous growth habit, nitrogen fertilizer needs to be managed to avoid excessive vegetative growth. Malwina
