The Helm of Awe is associated with the Asatru religion along with the Triqueta and the Valknut. The Asatru religion is a modern-day version of the ancient Norse beliefs. 1973 was the year of the revival of the ancient religion. Living a life of Asatru means adhering to the nine virtues of the Asatru: Courage, Truth, Honor, Fidelity, Hospitality, Discipline, Industriousness, Self-Reliance, and Perseverance. Outside of its relation to the Asatru religion, in Norse history, women would often draw the Helm of Awe symbol between their eyes on their forehead for protection. It works best inscribed with either blood or spit. The symbol was also popularly drawn on the insides of helmets so that they would rest between the eyes. This gives the warriors luck during battle.  With this in mind, our Helm of Awe Runic Necklace is meant to bring you luck just like it did the Vikings in their time.    Worldwide shipping
